🔥 Kerosene Lighter User Guide
⚠️ Important Note
New kerosene lighters are shipped without fuel. Please refuel before first use.
🛠️ Refueling Instructions
-
Open the Cover – Gently lift the lighter’s lid.
-
Remove the Inner Mechanism – Pull out the internal movement from the metal case.
-
Refuel the Lighter –
-
Turn the movement upside down.
-
Open the bottom cotton pad, or inject kerosene through the small filling hole beneath it.
-
-
Reassemble – After fueling, insert the movement back into the case.
-
Fuel Capacity – Fill only about 80% full (approximately “eight parts” full). Avoid overfilling.
-
Safety Reminder – After refueling, wait a few minutes before igniting to allow any spilled fuel to evaporate. Overfilled fuel may ignite on the lighter’s surface.
💡 Usage Tips & Dealer Reminder
-
Dealers should not refuel unsold lighters. Once used or burned, the wick will darken and appear used, which customers may reject.
-
Avoid leaving a refueled lighter unused for long periods, as this may reduce ignition efficiency over time.
⚠️ Safety Precautions
-
Keep Away from Children – Contains flammable fuel; store out of children’s reach.
-
Do Not Pierce or Throw – Never puncture or toss the lighter into a fire or impact surface.
-
Use in Ventilated Areas – Always operate away from flammable materials and ensure proper airflow.
-
Avoid Direct Contact – Never point the flame toward your face, skin, or clothing.
-
Proper Ignition – Identify the flame outlet before lighting.
-
Different models ignite differently:
-
Straight or Side Ignition: Press the ignition switch lightly.
-
Gasoline-Type Lighters: Quickly strike the flint wheel with your thumb from right to left.
-
-
-
Remove Debris – If soot or debris falls into the flame outlet, blow it out immediately to prevent ignition failure.
-
Close After Use – For gasoline and “loudspeaker” types, always close the lid when not in use to prevent gas leakage.
-
Do Not Overheat – Avoid continuous burning for over 1 minute to prevent overheating and burns.
-
Avoid High Temperatures – Do not store near stoves, in cars, or in direct sunlight (above 50°C / 122°F).
-
Altitude Warning – At altitudes above 3000m, windproof and jet lighters may not ignite properly; use an open-flame lighter instead.
-
Identify Components – Before use, locate the flame outlet, gas inlet, and adjustment valve to ensure proper operation.
-
Use Quality Fuel – Always refill with high-grade butane or kerosene; poor-quality fuel may damage the lighter or shorten its lifespan.
